FERRARI COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE has created the VERTICAL FOLDING MULTIPLA.

To fulfill the requests of an extensive-oriented horticulture FERRARI COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE has created the VERTICAL FOLDING MULTIPLA.
This machine has been designed mainly for the markets in the North of Europe, Russia and America, where the cultivated surfaces are so extended to justify such considerable work widths. 
VERTICAL FOLDING MULTIPLA, of which we attach some pictures and videos, is equipped with 6 turning carousels with 2 outlets. This means that by means of 6 people it will be possible to transplant 12 rows, adjustable from 38 to 50cm on the double row, with an inter-double-row spacing adjustable up to 180 / 200 cm. The machine in the picture is set at 50cm row width which altogether means 6 work meters.
The hydraulic folding system, which is necessary for transporting the machine on the road, closes the two sides (right and left) in 90° vertical position reducing the equipment dimension at 3 m. This transport way is completely innovative in the field of transplanting machines. 
Furthermore MULTIPLA is equipped with an optional system for the hydraulic adjustment of the pressure on the back pressing wheels. This specificity, which is absolutely innovative, allows an extremely precise result on the different soil characteristics present even on the same cultivable area (porous, compact…).  The use of the hydraulic enables, in fact, the operator to set a steady pressure on the packing wheels which bring soil around the plants. Once the necessary pressure is set, the transplanting unit will react automatically at the varying of the soil type without needing further adjustments by the operator. Obviously also the standard version of the Ferrari MULTIPLA transplanter allows to set the pressure of each single planting unit, however this is carried out by means of springs that once are set manually by the operator cannot react autonomously at the varying of the soil kind. In this case the operator will need to adjust the springs according to the necessity.
This MULTIPLA model can be equipped also with the electronic/hydraulic device to set the distance in the row – model PSC (Plant Spacing Control) – patented by FERRARI. This device enables the operator to change the distance between the plants simply by pressing it on the multifunctional board that guarantees a more precise distance in the row and with a wider variety of distances in comparison to the traditional sprockets gearbox. The distance is adjustable in cm and starts from 0.5 until 200 (from 2in to 78in). This device is extremely precise also because it is not susceptible to the problems caused by the sliding of the traction wheel caused by mechanical strain. The device is equipped with a display system that allows the operator to monitor the following data: plant/hectare, unit of measure (centimeter, inch), progress speed (km/h), work speed (plant/h), partial work hours, total work hours, partial planted hectares, total planted hectares.
